Abubakar Kyari takes over as APC National Chairman

Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman, North, of the All Progressives Party (APC), has officially assumed the leadership of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) following the reported resignation of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s National Chairman. This development confirms the widespread news of Adamu’s resignation, which was said to have been tendered to Sen. Iyola Omisore, the party’s National Secretary.

In a significant move, Abubakar Kyari, accompanied by a group of seven other members of the APC NWC, convened a meeting in his office on Monday morning at around 10:40 a.m. The presence of Kyari and his team at the meeting served as an official indication of the transition in leadership within the party. Notably, it was observed that Kyari’s official vehicle was parked in the designated spot reserved for the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, symbolizing the handover of responsibilities.

The meeting was attended by several key party figures, including Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu, National Vice-Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman, National Vice-Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha, National Vice-Chairman (North Central) Muazu Bawa, National Vice-Chairman (South West) Issacs Kekemeke, National Vice-Chairman (South East) Ejoroma Arodiogu, and the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Mr. Festus Fuanter. The presence of these prominent members emphasized the collective effort and unity within the party’s leadership during this transition period.

To ensure the security and integrity of the party’s National Secretariat located on Blantyre Street in Wuse Two, Abuja, enhanced security measures have been implemented. Vehicles entering the street are being subjected to thorough checks, while passers-by are being scrutinized and questioned to maintain a safe and controlled environment.

At the time of reporting, the APC NWC was engaged in a meeting to discuss the recent developments and chart the party’s way forward. This crucial meeting provided an opportunity for the leadership to deliberate on key matters, address any concerns, and strategize for the future. The unity and dedication demonstrated by the party members during this meeting reflected a strong commitment to the APC’s objectives and the welfare of its members.

As the party transitions to new leadership under Abubakar Kyari’s guidance, the APC is poised to navigate the challenges ahead and uphold its principles and goals. The collective efforts of the NWC and the commitment to unity within the party will undoubtedly shape the APC’s direction and strengthen its position as a major political force in Nigeria.
