In a recent incident in Abeokuta, the Police Command in Ogun reported that a Police Inspector and two security guards sustained injuries after being shot by suspected armed robbers. According to SP Omolola Odutola, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the robbers had targeted a hotel in the Sagamu area of the state.

The incident unfolded around 1 a.m. when a distress call was received by the Sagamu division, alerting them to armed hoodlums at the Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu. In response, a team of policemen was swiftly dispatched to the scene. Upon the arrival of the police, the armed robbers opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the criminals and the law enforcement officers.

During the confrontation, two of the robbers were fatally wounded, forcing the remaining culprits to flee into the nearby bush, sustaining bullet wounds in the process.
