BREAKING: Ondo State Gov Rotimi Akeredolu dies after long battle with illness

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has died after a protracted battle with Leukemia.

This was made known by a family source who disclosed that the governor who had been battling an unknown illness for some months passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a Lagos hospital.

According to the source, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was not able to be flown abroad for treatment despite securing a second medical leave and transferring control to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who has been filling in as Acting Governor.

Recall that the governor had in September, returned from a three-month medical leave in Germany and proceeded to run the governing of Ondo State from his home in Ibadan.

He reportedly died after a protracted battle with Leukemia.
