The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and his counterpart from Zazzau, Ahmed Bamali, separately visited the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, in Abuja. This information was conveyed in a statement by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau.
Emir Ahmed Bamali of Zazzau expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) for his compassionate visit to the palace to console the emirate following the tragic collapse of the Zaria Central Mosque, which resulted in the loss of about eight worshipers. He commended the military for its role in maintaining peace in the nation and offered prayers for the success of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in all their operations.
Emir Aminu Ado Bayero of Kano, who led other emirate chiefs to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), acknowledged the significant contributions of the military to Nigeria’s history and development. He expressed gratitude to the armed forces for their immense sacrifices in nation-building and lauded the productive collaboration between the emirate council and the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army in Kano. Emir Bayero also assured that traditional rulers would continue to support the military in safeguarding the nation.
In response, the Chief of Defence Staff conveyed his appreciation for the visit of the emirs, highlighting the boost it provides to the morale of the troops. He thanked them for their support and love for the armed forces. Gen. Christopher Musa assured Nigerians of the military’s commitment to addressing insecurity in the country and pledged decisive action in addressing security challenges, particularly in the Zaria axis and other troubled areas across the nation.
Furthermore, the CDS expressed confidence in the nation’s progress under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and thanked the emir and the people of Kano for their resilience in facing security challenges in the North West. He pledged support for all regions of the nation in the fight against criminal activities.
