The Nigerian armed forces have reported significant achievements in various operations conducted between September 15 and September 22. According to the Defence Headquarters, these operations led to the elimination of 52 terrorists, the apprehension of 60 others, and the successful rescue of 61 kidnapped hostages.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, provided a breakdown of the recovered weapons and ammunition, which included 53 AK47 rifles, 18 locally fabricated rifles, and various other firearms and explosives. Additionally, 15 vehicles, 12 motorcycles, and 12 bicycles used by the terrorists were recovered.
In the South-South region, troops of Operation Delta Safe thwarted oil thieves, preventing an estimated N946.38 million in losses by seizing stolen crude oil and illegal refined petroleum products.
The military’s commitment to combating terrorist and extremist groups remains unwavering. Operations in the North East, North West, North Central, and South East regions continue to target these threats, with a focus on ambushes, raids, rescue missions, fighting patrols, and cordon and search activities.
In addition to their operations against insurgents and criminals, troops are actively engaging with communities, encouraging citizens to provide information that can assist in maintaining security and safeguarding the nation.
