In a recent development, the troops of 6 Brigade in Jalingo engaged in a fierce confrontation with bandits in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba on Friday night, resulting in the recovery of weapons. According to a statement issued on Saturday by Lt. Olabodunde Oni, the Public Relations Officer of the brigade, the clash was triggered by gunshots near a disputed land along Tsukundi Road.
Upon receiving information, the troops swiftly mobilized to the scene, discovering two individuals dead and one person with a gunshot wound, who received immediate medical attention. The gallant troops, demonstrating bravery and professionalism, combed the surrounding areas, encountering armed groups. Superior firepower was effectively deployed, compelling the militias to abandon their positions and flee.
During the operation, the troops recovered a cache of weapons, including 2 AK 47 Rifles with 36 Rounds of 7.62 MM Special ammunition, 10 empty cases of 7.62 MM, 1 Double Barrel Rifle, and 1 Single Barrel Rifle with 14 live cartridges.
