Nigerian troops engaged in Operation UDO KA II conducted successful clearance operations against terrorist camps in Imo and Anambra states. The operations, which occurred at Lilu community and Orsumoghu Forest in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo, and in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra, led to the arrest of a suspected terrorist.

During these operations, the troops discovered and recovered materials used for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), motorcycles, stored foods, and other logistics items in the terrorists’ camps. The troops encountered various obstacles and successfully detonated several IEDs. The terrorists fled into nearby bushes with gunshot wounds due to the superior firepower of the Nigerian troops.

Additionally, the troops destroyed several camps and shrines belonging to the terrorists. The Army urged law-abiding citizens in the Southeast region to provide timely, credible, and reliable information to security agencies, especially to “Operation UDO KA II.” Such information could lead to the arrest of individuals who escaped with gunshot wounds. The Army also cautioned residents against misinformation from unreliable sources and assured them of continued efforts to combat crime and ensure the region’s safety.
