The NYSC Management acknowledges the concerns expressed by corps members regarding the delay in receiving their monthly allowance for June 2023.
The delay in the disbursement of the June allowance to corps members has been attributed by the NYSC to the handling of funds by different banks.
In a statement released on Sunday, Eddy Megwa, the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, clarified that the Scheme had already made arrangements for the payment of the June allowance on June 27, 2023.
“To clarify, the NYSC completed all necessary preparations for the disbursement of Corps Members’ allowances on June 27, 2023. On the same day, the funds were remitted to various banks as scheduled,” the statement explained.
The current delay in the payment is due to the administrative processes carried out by the respective banks, which are yet to credit the accounts of Corps Members with the funds.
The NYSC Management is actively engaging with the banks to expedite the payment of the June allowance to Corps Members, as stated above.
The spokesperson of the NYSC encouraged corps members to remain calm and law-abiding while carrying out their national service duties. The Scheme reassured them that their welfare concerns would be given the highest priority and addressed accordingly.
