Zamfara State Police Command has announced its intention to investigate the recent arrest and detention of a vehicle and driver belonging to Tukur Danfulani, the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The incident allegedly involved certain police officers.

ASP Yazid Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, stated on Sunday in Gusau that while the Command had not been officially informed about the incident, they were committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations.

Although no formal report has been submitted to the police regarding the matter, the Command is taking the allegations seriously and recognizes the importance of addressing any misconduct or wrongdoing on the part of its officers. The investigation aims to establish the facts surrounding the incident, ascertain the circumstances that led to the arrest and detention, and determine whether any violations of the law or police procedures occurred.

According to Mr. Idris, the policemen involved identified themselves as being assigned by the state police command headquarters, and the driver was detained at the government house without any explanation provided.

The APC publicity secretary expressed his strong disapproval of the incident, deeming it unacceptable. He stressed that the APC leadership in the state would not tolerate any form of intimidation or harassment.
