During the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign in Lokoja, Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, made significant announcements regarding developmental projects in Kogi State. VP Shettima stated that President Tinubu, if elected, is determined to reposition the nation in its rightful place, emphasizing restructuring and stimulating the Nigerian economy.
One of the key announcements made was the nearing completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex, which is anticipated to employ 500,000 Nigerians once designated as a free trade zone. President Tinubu expressed his commitment to fully harness the potentials of the Complex, boosting Nigeria’s foreign direct investment and creating a conducive business environment for various sectors to thrive.
VP Shettima highlighted President Tinubu’s ideas and dedication to the nation’s development. He emphasized the commitment to the development of Kogi State and the entire nation, emphasizing the need for collaboration between the state and the center for mutual progress. Furthermore, VP Shettima mentioned plans to make the Itakpe crop processing project a reality, promising jobs and affordable education under the Tinubu administration.
The Vice President reiterated the unwavering commitment to citizens’ welfare and encouraged the people of Kogi State to vote for the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, during the governorship election on November 11. He also revealed President Tinubu’s approval for the rehabilitation of the Obajana-Okene road in Kogi State.
Governor Yahaya Bello expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for accepting to flag off the APC governorship campaign in Kogi State. He highlighted his administration’s achievements in areas such as security, education, and health, urging the people of the state to vote for the APC candidate for continued progress.
The APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, emphasized the importance of continuity, noting that Kogi State cannot afford to be left behind in terms of development. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Chairman of the APC Campaign Council for Kogi State, encouraged the people to clean up their voter cards and turn out in large numbers to vote for the APC candidate in the upcoming election.
